Rushton Hinchy select Eclipse Proclaim in anticipation of new RTA rules

Rushton Hinchy Solicitors Ltd, a specialist accident claims practice based at St Helens in the north-west, has selected Eclipse’s Proclaim practice management system. The firm’s 50-strong team specialises exclusively in personal injury claims litigation, with a focus on road traffic accidents (RTAs). In preparation for the Ministry of Justice’s (MoJ’s) impending reforms to RTA claims, the practice took a proactive approach and analysed the market for a suitable IT solution. The MoJ’s reforms aim to streamline the compensation system, speeding up the process of establishing liability and finalising claim payment. Claimant lawyers, insurers and compensators will utilise an electronic portal which supports these new processes, as of 30th April.Hilary Cliffe, Director at Rushton Hinchy, comments “The MoJ’s reforms essentially mean that the way in which the majority of our claims are processed will change.  We will want to utilise the faster, more efficient Application-to-Application (A2A) method of communicating with the electronic portal, and Eclipse is positioned as the key IT provider to enable us to do this.  Eclipse’s Proclaim system will automate as much of the process as possible, communicating directly with the new portal rather than us having to use the (slower and cumbersome) web browser method many other law firms are finding themselves stuck with.” As well as the core Proclaim case management system for its 50 users, Rushton Hinchy is implementing Proclaim Accounts to form a fully-integrated practice management solution.  Eclipse is also carrying out a conversion of data from the firm’s incumbent financial system. The full implementation is scheduled for a pre-30th April ‘go live’,
