LexisNexis UK today announced a technology partnership with Avantstar (a provider of desktop file viewing, content conversion and web content management software) to provide advanced file viewing and search capabilities to users of case and matter management software LexisNexis Visualfiles. Visualfiles customers now have access to Avantstar’s Quick View Plus 11 Professional, a file viewing solution for the legal sector that lets users view documents in over 300 native formats without the need for underlying native applications. By incorporating Quick View Plus 11 Professional within Visualfiles, LexisNexis has significantly enhanced the software’s data storage and access functionality, while also supporting e-discovery and computer forensics. Early adopters of this enhanced version of Visualfiles, healthcare law firm Capsticks and charity and commercial law firm Bates Wells & Braithwaite, have already implemented the solution. Users now have a single preview pane within Visualfiles, making it easy for lawyers to effectively search for and identify files, which have accurately displayed fonts, formatted text, graphics and electronic links within documents, regardless of the native formats. The integrity of source documents is also preserved, ensuring accuracy at all times. “We are committed to continuously adding value to Visualfiles, ensuring that customers have the best and most cost-effective solutions to meet their business needs,” said Tim Cheadle, managing director, LexisNexis Enterprise Solutions. “We chose Avantstar because its solution is well-suited to the legal sector and pairs easily with third party, high-volume case and matter management systems – both as an embedded or standalone product. It is important that we offer customers this flexibility.”
