LawTech Europe Congress – bringing Legal IT to the Heart of Europe

The LawTech Europe Congress – taking in place in Prague on Monday 12 November 2012 – is shaping up to be the key legal IT event for law firms, corporate legal teams and technology vendors in Central and Eastern Europe this year, with three concurrent all-day streams covering legal technology, electronic evidence/ediscovery and computer forensics.

The internationally renowned legal market futurist, consultant and writer Professor Richard Susskind has been signed up to deliver the opening keynote – and he will also be participating in one of the panel sessions in the afternoon. Commenting on his involvement in the Congress, Richard Susskind, whose legal conference appearances in the UK, North America and Australia always attract sell-out attendances, said “I am delighted to be giving the keynote at what promises to be a fascinating conference”.

“We are pleased to have Richard as the keynote speaker for the first showing of LawTech Europe Congress in the CEE region. The unanimous views we have had from key individuals in the legal technology space is that Richard will set the pace for a new and successful global event in the region” said Frederick Gyebi-Ababio, managing director of eDiscovery Europe.

LawTech Europe Congress has also signed up Charles Christian, the editor and publisher of the Legal Technology Insider series of global legal IT newsletters, to develop and moderate the event’s legal technology track which includes sessions on

• on meeting the challenge of European law firm IT infrastructures

• how will law firms operate in the 21st century in an era of social media, iPads and Generation X, Y and Z

• how can law firms deliver services faster, cheaper and still remain profitable

• are law firms meeting the service and delivery needs of their clients

• how can law firms win and retain new business

Christian adds “Legal services are at a tipping point, entering a new era where changing technologies, global law firm consolidation, a generational change in lawyers and clients, and the emergence of non-traditional legal service providers, means to remain competitive, law firms must radically rethink both the way they are structured and the way they operate. Technology lies at the heart of this – and at the heart of this conference. This event is going to be unmissable.”
