APAC news: Totum recruitment expands into Hong Kong

Legal business services recruitment firm Totum this week launched an office in Hong Kong’s Central district as of 3 December 2012. Heading up Totum’s new office is Keir Blaauw, a native Hong Konger who was formerly at Charterhouse Partnership, where he specialised in marketing and business development roles in the professional services sector.
As a consultant with Totum, Blaauw will provide a dedicated service to law firms, helping them to develop business services teams that can meet the complex and changing needs of their growing businesses. He will focus on all levels of seniority, from executive and junior management level right up to ‘head of’ and director roles, supporting firms to get the right team mix for optimum performance.
Commenting on the launch, Totum’s Director Gary Jones says: “A lot of our clients have UK, US or Australian “head offices” or functional directors based in one of these jurisdictions, and typically have large regional offices in Hong Kong  or Singapore. We wanted to be able to support these firms as well as local clients with an offering that isn’t just an outpost of a London operation. It’s a business in its own right, headed up by local expertise.”
Blaauw is now looking forward to hitting the ground running as he combines his local expertise with the work Totum has already achieved across Europe, Hong Kong and Asia.
Totum specialises in recruiting business services professionals (HR, Marketing/Business Development, Finance, Knowledge Management, General Management etc) into the legal profession. The Totum brand launched in March 2012, following a demerger with First Counsel, with the aim of championing talent in the dynamic and growing field of law firm management.
