Linklaters completes global swapout of Workshare & switch to DocsCorp

Linklaters has deployed compareDocs from DocsCorp to its global workforce of 5000 staff, replacing Workshare as its document comparison solution.
Commenting on the decision to switch, Sue Hall, Director of Information Systems for Linklaters said “The primary driver was the need to move document comparison beyond Word documents. Formats such as PDFs, Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations are increasingly important to our lawyers and their clients. The deployment took several months to complete, with DocsCorp regional support and R&D teams working together with Linklaters IT staff to install, test and rollout the compareDocs software. The system is already delivering against our objectives; our users are benefiting from a broadened set of document comparison features and at the same time software maintenance costs have been reduced.”
Editors Note: In addition to Word-to-Word comparison, compareDocs provides law firms with PDF-to-PDF, as well as Word-to-PDF comparison. Linklaters also deployed OCR Server from DocsCorp, which integrates with compareDocs to enable image PDFs to be compared without the need to OCR the document separately. This also allows users to compare any two supported document types, two PDFs for example, and output the comparison document in MS Word format.
