Guests of Honour: His Honour Judge Hacon, Intellectual Property Enterprise Court and Neil Feinson, Director of International Policy, Intellectual Property Office and UK Representative, Unified Patent Court Preparatory Committee
This seminar will focus on the future of domestic and international patent reform. It is timed to consider next steps for the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court (IPEC) – one year on from its formal establishment – and is also scheduled as European policymakers approach a finalised Unified Patent Court and Unitary Patent, expected in early 2015.
Sessions will bring together senior policymakers with intellectual property lawyers and consultants, businesses representatives from a variety of high-tech and innovative sectors, universities, commentators and economists. Sessions will bring out latest thinking on what more the IPEC can do to develop an affordable and efficient framework of domestic patent protection and dispute resolution, and in what ways reform in this area can support Government’s wider aims to foster innovation and growth among SMEs. Delegates will also have the opportunity to discuss the impact of forthcoming European reforms – with stakeholder perspectives on the Unified Patent Court’s legal framework, and how it might impact on UK interests.
We are delighted that His Honour Judge Hacon, Intellectual Property Enterprise Court and Neil Feinson, Director of International Policy, Intellectual Property Office and UK Representative, Unified Patent Court Preparatory Committee have agreed to deliver keynote addresses at this seminar.
