Thomson Reuters Elite just announced that MatterSphere, the matter management component of the Elite Client & Matter Management offering, has been selected to support top 10 Australian (and UK) law firm Slater & Gordon throughout its continued expansion. “We inherited several disparate solutions with our recent acquisitions across the UK, making it critical that we consolidate our technology with a single matter management solution capable of supporting our extensive growth plans for the coming years,” said Slater & Gordon’s Head of IT Jonathan Pangrazio. “MatterSphere is highly received by our Australian offices, which made it the frontrunner to replace existing software and manage sizable uptake and growth. Our decision to implement MatterSphere makes it the company standard as we continue to penetrate new markets and acquire more firms.”
MatterSphere is long established in Slater & Gordon’s Australian offices, and with a rapidly growing presence in the UK, the firm made the decision to roll the solution out to 1250 users in the British Isles building the platform to support future user growth. The firm says MatterSphere maintains the preferred functionality of Slater & Gordon’s incumbent processes within a single platform, and the offering’s highly configurable software development kit (SDK) benefits the firm with the agility and scalability it needs to meet its aggressive global expansion plans.

COMMENT: Slater & Gordon operates from 70 locations across Australia and 18 locations in the UK. Its best known UK element is the old Russell Jones & Walker practice, which used Lexis Visualfiles for case management. This was one of the final deals negotiated by Mark Craddock before he departed from Thomson Reuters Elite earlier this year. Back when MatterSphere was still owned by FWBS (subsequently acquired by Elite), Craddock and his team also signed up Maurice Blackburn as MatterSphere users.
