Here’s an interesting article which first appeared on BuzzFeed about Google search engines and the European “right to be forgotten”. Interesting to see some of articles/reports that have been complained about including… a 2002 Guardian article about solicitor who was facing a £1.6 million fraud trial standing for election to the Law Society and a 1999 article from The Independent about the then new president of the Law Society and his colourful language.
If you are wondering how to get around this issue, Google.com, the default US version of the search engine, isn’t covered by these changes whereas the Google.co.uk, Google.fr, Google.es etc versions are all affected and redact the results. So, just make sure you run your Google search in the .com version and you will see the stories people are seeking to hide.
