Latest Legal IT events news – do organisers have diaries? Probably not!

Here are some new legal IT events for your diaries from Tikit and Aderant – and we also ask: Do events organisers have diaries or check out what the rest of the industry is doing? The answer would seem to be “no”.

Tikit have got three events coming up, starting with a webinar this Friday… for further details email Janki Pandya at [email protected]

Event title: ILTA webinar: Tikit’s Template Management System (TMS). Increase Your Firm’s Efficiency, Save Time, Reduce Costs and Mitigate Risk.
Event date: Friday 25th July 2014
Most law firms today either have no formal template management solution in place or rely on outside consultants to develop and manage their templates (ILTA Survey 2013). This not only increases risk and cost for the firm, but templates can often become a roadblock to IT projects and upgrades. This ILTA hosted webinar will focus on Tikit TMS, an off-the-shelf configurable enterprise level product designed for law firms to create, maintain and control MS Office templates without the need for expert development resources.

Event title: Word Excellence Day
Event date: Wednesday 15th October 2014
Event location: Ashurst LLP, Broadwalk House, 5 Appold Street, London, EC2A 2HA
Full programme to be finalised but to include:
• The future – Office 365, Collaborative working and the challenges of BYOD – chaired by Jason Plant, DLA
• Microsoft Office hints, tips and gotchas
• Office 2013 “Masterclass” – Clare Waller, Principal Consultant, Tikit
• Working with images in documents – what you need to know
• Global difference between US & UK Firms
To register or for more information on any of the events listed above, please contact Janki Pandya at: [email protected]

Event title: P4W National User Group (NUG) Conference 2014
Event date: Thursday 20th – Friday 21st November 2014
Event location: BT Centre, 81 Newgate Street, London EC1A 7AJ
Technology plays a huge part in the way firms adapt to an ever changing environment. The Partner for Windows User Group Conference will delve into what is happening technologically in the here and now, as well as looking at future trends that will affect what firms require in terms of their IT landscape moving forward. The two day event will focus on a number of important subjects relating to P4W users, and give them the opportunity to learn, discuss and influence as well as network with peers.

Next up it is Aderant, which has just opened registration for its 2014 Momentum EMEA User Conference, taking place 16-17 September 2014 at the May Fair Hotel in London. The conference is open to current Aderant clients, as well as industry professionals interested in learning more about Aderant and gaining legal industry insights. To register, go to https://www.regonline.com/momentumemea2014. If you would like further information or have any questions about this event please contact Rebecca Roome at [email protected] or call +44 (0)20 7038 9600.

Comment: We love legal IT events – and so do delegates but with such a paucity of good events, good event organisers make a little more effort to get their acts together and try to avoid clashing dates? For example, this year’s Aderant Momentum clashes with the Alternative Legal IT Conference, while the following week sees the Elite EMEA User Conference in London clashing with the BIO By Invitation Only event. Come on people, do try harder, there aren’t that many events in the legal IT calendar and all you are doing is cannibalising your audiences and sponsors.
