Here’s a round-up of some of the most recent acquisitions and mergers in the US litigation support and ediscovery industry. If the current trend for consolidation continues at this rate, there’s only going to be one significant player left, namely DTI.
• DTI, the largest privately held legal process outsourcing (LPO) company in the U.S. providing eDiscovery, managed services and litigation support, acquired the Colorado-based Falcon Discovery, a legal and technology consulting and services firm specializing in discovery and litigation management. As part of the acquisition, the Falcon team, along with its managed services operating model, becomes a part of DTI. Effective immediately, the newly acquired organization will be known as “Falcon Discovery, a DTI Company.” The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
• DTI (again) has acquired of New York-based Hudson Legal eDiscovery, a leading provider of managed review services. The acquisition augments the growth trajectory DTI began in 2010 when it started acquiring major brands in the legal and eDiscovery markets. The Hudson Legal eDiscovery leadership team will join the senior leadership team of the DTI Knowledge Solutions group, led by Christopher Aronson and Jason Brennan.
• LDiscovery LLC, a provider of eDiscovery services, has announced its merger with Renew Data Corp, a legal consulting and technology company, based in Austin, TX, with solutions that address the full spectrum of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM). The LDiscovery Companies, with more than 230 full time employees, now includes LDiscovery, AlphaLit, Flash Data Solutions and RenewData. RenewData will maintain its brand name and continue offering its full range of services from
Austin.
