UK top 30 law firm Withers is in the process of overhauling key internal systems and processes including implementing Microsoft SharePoint 2013 as its intranet platform, migrating over to Windows 8 and adopting a RAVN Systems knowledge management solution to replace Tikit KHS. The firm will in February or March 2015 replace its current DNN (formerly DoNetNuke) open source web content management platform with SharePoint 2013.
The move comes as Withers is already midway through migrating to Windows 8, having at the end of October awarded RAVN a contract to roll out its Connect for Microsoft SharePoint 2013 KM solution. RAVN’s win, which comes fresh on the heels of similar wins for Taylor Wessing and Watson, Farley & Williams, will see Withers migrate away from Tikit KHS in phase one. However, it is anticipated that Withers will also adopt RAVN’s data analytics solution once the initial roll out is complete. RAVN was selected after a lengthy tender process among a number of contenders was whittled down to RAVN and BA Insight in the final stages of the evaluation.
RAVN’s conveniently-located London base stood in its favour and Jeremy Rooth, Withers director of business transformation and knowledge management, said: “RAVN is very competitively priced at the moment and provides a standardised Windows interface so it needs much less integration. “It’s really simple and mimics the tech people already use. I’m focused on systems that are intuitive to use – unless it’s very simple to use people don’t have the time to work it out and remember how to use it.”
