Christmas? Meh! It’s beginning to feel a lot like business as usual with 3 new deals

No sign of a Christmas slowdown here, with 3 UK legal IT vendors – Peppermint Technology – Eclipe Legal Systems – Linetime – all announcing new deals this morning…

* Morrisons Solicitors LLP is the latest law firm to sign up with Peppermint Technology, replacing its legacy LexisNexis Axxia system. In recent years, while other firms have struggled, Morrisons has bucked the trend and extended its reach in the South East and beyond. Building on its 300 year old reputation, Morrisons strive to constantly evolve its client centric offerings and align the business process to what clients want. The Peppermint Legal Service Platform, built on Microsoft Dynamics and Microsoft SharePoint, was the choice to underpin this progressive business. Alongside the roll out of the Peppermint Platform, Morrisons will also deploy the Peppermint Content Packs for Personal Injury, Residential Conveyancing and Debt Recovery to the firm’s 135 staff.

Paul Harvey, Managing Partner at Morrisons Solicitors said “Standing still is not an option for today’s law firms if they want to be here tomorrow. Putting the right technology in place now will enable us to successfully deliver on our client centric vision and future proof the firm going forward. In working with Peppermint we not only selected the best technology the market has to offer, but also a partner that shares our vision of putting the client at the heart of the business”.

* Sherrards Solicitors is implementing the Proclaim Case Management Software Solution from Eclipse Legal Systems. In addition to the Highly Commended award in the Exporting Legal Services category at the 2013 Law Society Excellence Awards, Sherrards has recently been crowned the ‘Client Choice Litigation Law Firm of the Year in England’ Global Awards Winner 2014.

Sherrards Solicitors is taking the Proclaim Conveyancing Case Management Software solution for the property team, which will have instant access to the single desktop tool – facilitating a consistent approach to each file. Proclaim will streamline a vast number of administrative processes, with features such as automatic submission of SDLT forms reducing turnaround times. The firm is also taking advantage of Proclaim’s inbuilt reporting platform to provide centralised and instantly accessible key information on each file – making responding to client and estate agent queries straightforward. As part of the installation, Proclaim’s flexibility will enable a connection with the firm’s incumbent financial system for fast and accurate billing.

Andrew Mills-Baker, Chief Financial Officer at Sherrards Solicitors, comments “We pride ourselves in offering first class standards of service with a well-earned reputation for being approachable, available and dedicated to the needs of our clients. Proclaim’s streamlining of non-value adding administrative tasks will free up more quality time allowing us to perfect our clients’ journey even further, whilst greatly increasing our volume of work – surpassing the service offering of many larger London firms.”

* Norwich based Rogers & Norton Limited has further expanded following its takeover of Nicholas Daykin & Co, another Norfolk based practice. The newly enlarged firm will give Rogers & Norton an increased presence in the local area and allow those clients who are based in South Norfolk to access their solicitor without having to travel so far and will offer a wider range of legal services and expertise to clients of Nicholas Daykin & Co. The two firms previously used differing legal software to support their businesses. As part of the review into consolidating the two businesses the firm made the clear decision to implement Linetime’s Liberate software throughout. This includes both practice and case management. To facilitate the transition Linetime were contracted to migrate the data to create a single combined system. Director in charge of IT at the company, Bruce Faulkner said “We have a long track record of working with Linetime. When the time came to decide about IT for the expanded practice we had no hesitation selecting Linetime.”
