Another Top 40 UK firm goes with Eclipse Proclaim

Associate editor Caroline Hill reports… Top 40 UK law firm Fieldfisher is rolling out the Proclaim Debt Recovery Software solution and time recording platform throughout its debt recovery team in what is being described as significant win for Eclipse Legal Systems. Fieldfisher’s debt recovery team is headed by Robert Surridge, who joined the 388-lawyer firm’s Manchester office in May 2014 from another firm that also used Proclaim.
Fieldfisher uses Elite Enterprise as its PMS and looked at a number of debt recovery solutions but chose Proclaim because of the speed at which its ready-made debt recovery workflow could be implemented. Eclipse’s marketing director Darren Gower told the Legal IT Insider: “Because the workflow in our debt recovery case management system is already geared towards that field of work, firms can implement the software extremely rapidly.  Minimal tweaking is required on their part to then create a system bespoke to them – but they are working from a very advanced starting point, not from scratch with a toolkit and blank framework.”
As part of the implementation, Eclipse will integrate Proclaim’s time recording platform with Elite. Fieldfisher will also utilise Proclaim’s reporting toolkit, which can be tailored for each user or activity – boosting efficiency and providing detailed analysis of the team’s performance. Fieldfisher operates across offices in Brussels, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Paris, London, Munich, Manchester, Palo Alto and Shanghai. Surridge said: “Our clients’ expectations are becoming increasingly high and it’s crucial that we meet these changing demands. With Proclaim we can enhance our efficiency, removing administrative overheads, freeing up more quality time to better understand our clients’ needs – it’s this knowledge and understanding that helps set us apart from the competition.”
COMMENT by Charles Christian: Interesting choice of Proclaim given that Fieldfisher also run Elite – so why not MatterSphere – and Lexis Visualfiles.
