New Law: Keystone opens a virtual door to life at the firm

Report by associate editor Caroline Hill…
New-model law firm Keystone Law has announced the launch of a new interactive portal, Law Set Free http://www.lawsetfree.com  The online gateway to life at the fast-growing dispersed model firm aims to showcase the benefits of joining Keystone to prospective lawyers, who can gain insight into the support structure and various facilities that have enabled Keystone to grow to over 150 lawyers.
Information includes video testimonials and narratives from Keystone management and fee earners, who work from home, satellite offices or clients’ offices. Law Set Free also features a “lifestyle calculator”, an interactive tool that claims to enable potential Keystone lawyers to see what their personal work/life balance would be with the firm, by inputting details about their current lifestyle. The calculator will assess what remuneration they would receive on that basis. Keystone last year obtained £3.15m in investment from Root Capital to fund its growth plans in return for a 35% stake in the business, having converted to an alternative business structure in 2013. Its 2013/14 turnover increased from £12.2m to £14.1m.
Managing director James Knight said: “2014 was an exciting year that saw the company make some strong advancements both on home soil, as well as overseas. We have seen a real surge in interest surrounding Keystone and its dispersed model. Now more than ever, we have the capacity to offer the right candidates a level of flexible working that is simply unparalleled.  Our existing lawyers experience such profound and tangible benefits from being part of the firm and Law Set Free is designed to help others appreciate exactly how these benefits could directly relate to them.”
