UK #Vendor : LSSA (the Legal Software Suppliers Association) announced that Glyn Morris will take over as Chief Executive on 30th June 2015 when the current Chief Executive Roger Hancock retires. “I’m delighted to be taking over as Chief Executive of the LSSA. Roger Hancock will be an almost impossible act to follow. To many Roger has been ‘Mr LSSA’ and the organisation owes him a huge debt of gratitude for his inspirational guidance over his tenure.” comments Glyn Morris. “I am looking forward to helping the Association with the hurdles of a changing legal market and the rapid rate of change required to accommodate the new technical and commercial realities of the next few years.” The appointment means Glyn will be leaving Advanced Legal. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time as Chief Executive of the LSSA” adds Roger Hancock. “It’s time for me to hand over the reins after an 18 year tenure and I can’t imagine a better person to take over than Glyn.” http://www.lssa.co.uk

UK #Vendors : Veyo the new home conveyancing portal developed by The Law Society and Mastek UK and scheduled to launch this Spring 2015, has appointed Stefanie van den Haak as Commercial Director. Stefanie will be heading up the sales and business development team. She has held senior sales and business development roles at Lawtel (Centaur Media) and Thomson Reuters Westlaw. Most recently was Sales & Partnerships Director at Quality Solicitors.  Organisation (QSO) Ltd, a group of 260 solicitor offices. #APAC : LexisNexis Pacific has promoted two of its senior leaders with the appointments of Joanne Beckett to the role of General Manager of Australia and Rachel Travers to Managing Director of New Zealand. The promotions follow the departure of Marc Peter, the former COO of LexisNexis Pacific who has relocated to LexisNexis UK as Director of Sales and Marketing. Joanne and Rachel have also promoted a number of internal staff to new in-market leadership roles designed to drive local growth through delivering next generation productivity, collaboration, workflow and analytics solutions. Previously Executive Director Content Solutions at LexisNexis, Joanne joined the company in 2006 after running her own legal practice. As Executive Director of New Zealand, Rachel Travers drove the development of strategic new content across all LexisNexis Pacific markets, and prior to that, as NZ Head of Content and Product Development, was responsible for growth and strategy of the research, professional development and magazines businesses. Tom OConnor#Ediscovery : Advanced Discovery, a litigation support company, has hired the legendary Tom O’Connor to augment its consulting and knowledge leadership services. Tom O’Connor has been a consultant, author and speaker in the field of automated litigation systems and electronic discovery for the past 30 years. During that time, he has helped to shape the initiative to incorporate electronically stored information (ESI) into the discovery process with his three books and hundreds of articles in national publications. As senior eDiscovery consultant, Tom will be assisting Advanced Discovery clients in database design, implementation and training as well as eDiscovery-specific issues such as retention policies, litigation holds and document exchange protocols. Additionally, Tom will be presenting at major legal conferences and writing for national legal publications. Alison joins from ADT where she was Director, CRE and Program Management having previously been Head of Inside Sales and Customer Services at Graydon UK and Head of Sales Operations at Wolters Kluwer. Et in Legal IT Arcadia ego : Finally, we are sad to report the recent death of Bill Keen, who ran the Legal sales team in the London office of Kienzle – back in the 1980s when Kienzle dominated the UK legal accounts systems market. Bill gave the likes of Graham Mills and Harry Townsend their first jobs in this sector. And, Peter Birley, the former Head of IT at UK law firm Browne Jacobson and later an independent consultant, passed away last month.
