Ediscovery & Edisclosure Channel News…

Time for a round-up of edisclosure and ediscovery channel news with Kroll Ontrack + DTI + FTI & IBM + LDM Global & Zylpha…

• Kroll Ontrack has opened a new data centre in Paris, France. Kroll Ontrack has provided data recovery and electronic evidence services in France since 1998. It has invested in the new data centre in response to the growing number of international investigations and other legal matters faced by companies in France that require electronic evidence to be analysed locally.

“Our new French data center helps French companies address three key challenges: the increase in international and domestic investigations; the growing volumes of data they need to search through; and the need to comply with increasingly stringent Data Protection legislation,” said Tim Phillips, Managing Director, Kroll Ontrack International Legal Technologies. “Although there are no formal ediscovery rules in France, as there are in the U.S. and U.K, we are seeing a growing number of international matters that require organisations to analyse and produce electronic evidence quickly. It is important to our French clients to be able to process and host data required in legal proceedings within their own country, not just because of Data Protection laws, but because time is of the essence when responding to requests for information.

“There have been several high profile cases over the past year involving investigations into the French operations of international companies by regulators with record fines being issued, and this has only served to highlight the need for local expertise and data processing services,” added Phillips “On top of that, we can see further regulation coming down the line, such as the new European Data Protection Regulation and the bill of law currently under review by the French Parliament, which aims to protect French companies’ trade secrets. As data protection and business secrecy laws tighten up in France it’s important to give French companies a local ediscovery data centre so that they have more control over their data and can investigate the misappropriation of confidential data.”

The launch of the new French data centre is part of Kroll Ontrack’s strategy to provide access to its powerful ediscovery software and local expertise wherever and whenever clients need them. Since opening its German data centre in Frankfurt in May 2014, Kroll Ontrack has delivered more than 104 million pages into document review databases hosted in Germany and copied 10,000 GB of data for processing. Visit www/ediscovery.com/uk

• LDM Global (www.ldmglobal.com) has announces a partnership with Zylpha (www.zylpha.com), the UK legal systems innovator. The resultant fusion of eDisclosure services and court bundling solutions will provide legal practices with an innovative end-to-end solution when preparing documentation for court. LDM Global offers a full suite of eDisclosure services including collecting documents, data processing, hosted review or production services. Zylpha can then convert these documents into high quality electronic bundles ready for use in even the most complex cases.

LDM founder & CEO Chris O’Reilly said he is excited about the partnership. “Zylpha leads the field in the production of electronic document bundles. LDM Global supports this process seamlessly by supplying even the most complex documents and email correspondence in electronic form. “This partnership is therefore a natural fusion of the two stages of the process and delivers real benefits to law firms. Through this partnership, we can now save time for clients, and ultimately offer cost savings when bundling our services. We can help lawyers manage the workflow of data electronically all the way from data mapping and collection through to court.”

Zylpha CEO Tim Long said LDM Global’s exceptional reputation was a major factor behind the partnership. He said the combined offering will be especially well received by practices preparing complex cases for court. “Innovation is a major talking point with practices at the moment, and one of the key areas where this can deliver benefits is in the processing and then bundling of documents and email correspondence. It made sense then for us to join forces with a best of breed eDisclosure services company. After reviewing the market extensively, we chose to partner with LDM Global as they impressed us greatly with their strong reputation and history of providing exceptional eDisclosure services.

“With this partnership in place, legal practices can now remove all the headaches associated with the preparation of documents for court. Quite simply if a court appearance is imminent and you need to collect and process data during discovery, then LDM Global’s service is for you. From this stage it is only a matter of minutes for Zylpha to prepare class leading court bundles from these files. It is therefore a truly end-to-end service between LDM Global and Zylpha.”
