Legal business technology group Enable has won Am Law 100 firm Baker Botts as a client of its transformational pitch solution PitchPerfect and confirmed that Reed Smith’s EMEA IT director Tim Hyman will take up the position of chief marketing officer (CMO) in June.
PitchPerfect is Enable’s first major technological development since its launch by Tikit co-founder and former innovations director Liam Flanagan in 2013, to help law firms address technology challenges in an innovative way. The solution significantly reduces the time it takes to put together a client pitch document, using templates within MS Word and PowerPoint to pull law firm corporate information into branded reports and high-impact dashboards, which maintain their structure even when worked on by multiple users.
At Baker Botts, which has 725 lawyers practising across a network of 14 offices around the globe, communications consultant Stephen Hastings said: “As Baker Botts builds on our 175-year history, we look forward to working with Enable on expanding our global presence in a fresh new way and changing our business model and tools to thrive in the legal marketplace.” Baker Botts joins leading UK law firms Charles Russell Speechlys, TLT Solicitors and Olswang as Enable clients.
Flanagan, Enable’s chief executive, said, “We have listened to and worked hard over the last 12 months to earn the Baker Botts’ business and come through their tough requirements criteria. We are extremely proud to announce Baker Botts as our first U.S. Am Law 100 client.”
The win comes as Hyman, who joined Reed Smith in May 2011, prepares to join Enable in June as CMO to help build the business and develop a new law firm consultancy service around law firm management, service delivery and strategy.
Hyman, a former IT director of Olswang and Harbottle & Lewis, who also spent two and a half years working at Tikit, said: “I’ve known Liam for many years and always trailed closely what he does with his companies and solutions. IT is going through a revolution and Enable is one of the more exciting ventures with truly transformational solutions and I want to be a part of that.”
