Niche law firm Maples Teesdale has opted to replace its incumbent legal software with SOS Connect from Solicitors Own Software (SOS). The London-based commercial property firm is switching to SOS Connect after several years with the Thomson Reuters Elite Envision (aka Pilgrim LawSoft) system.
“We were looking for something more in keeping with the image we wanted to project as a law firm,” says Paul Burke, corporate and property finance partner at Maples Teesdale, which has around 60 fee earners involved in areas such as construction and engineering, finance, planning, litigation and dispute resolution. It was important that our legal software matched our expectations in terms of both our marketing and our ability to win and retain clients, and also our recruitment of high calibre people.
“I attended presentations from three potential providers and SOS really stood out as being extremely clear and well structured. It was immediately apparent that SOS Connect is very accessible and user-friendly, and is a perfect solution for sector-focused firm like ours.”
COMMENT: Hmm now SOS has thrown its hat into the ring as a viable alternative to the end-of-lifed Envision system – certainly cheaper than migrating to Elite 3E!
