What is it with legal IT and Ultimate Frisbee? Grainne McCarthy joins the LITI stable

GMC frisbee1The Legal IT Insider welcomes TavistockMedia sales executive and international Ultimate Frisbee player Grainne McCarthy, who going forward will be a point of contact for LITI suppliers and advertisers, working alongside managing director Jeremy Hill.
Grainne joined TavistockMedia in February 2015 as a sales executive, having previously been a project manager at Ping! London, a street competitive table tennis project funded by Sport England.
Sport is a recurring theme, as Grainne has played Ultimate Frisbee since 2008 and will be playing for Ireland in the forthcoming European Championships in Copenhagen at the end of July. It will be the third time Grainne, a defensive player who hails from Dublin, has played for her country.
Readers of our popular People & Places column in the latest Legal IT Insider will recall that ediscovery vendor Everlaw, which also featured as our most recent Startup Corner, has recruited international frisbee player Clay Miller as operations engineer. At Everlaw Ultimate Frisbee was an early recruitment tool and the CEO, senior director of accounts, operations manager and operations engineer all play for national teams.
Grainne said: “Ultimate Frisbee is still yet to go mainstream but it is a real privilege to play for Ireland and be part of a growing sport. Events like the championship in Copenhagen are helping to put Ultimate on the map. TavistockMedia is a young exciting business and I’m happy to be part of it and in particular work for the Legal IT Insider.”
