# Baker Donelson Bearman Caldwell & Berkowitz, an AmLaw 100 firm headquartered in Memphis, TN with 19 offices and over 700 attorneys. “We are seeing a major shift in the legal industry in terms of the security requirements and usability demands from our personnel as well as our client base,” said John Green, CIO at Baker Donelson. “NetDocuments meets these needs, and elevates our security and compliance initiatives to a level that goes well beyond what firms can achieve by themselves or with traditional server-based or hosted systems. We just haven’t seen innovation in the legal DMS space with the existing providers, and we didn’t see the value in moving from an on-premises system to a hosted deployment as it would not have eliminated the complexity of the infrastructure, or meet the security needs that our clients demand. NetDocuments has always been the innovative solution in the space, and has incredible momentum in the market now due to the fact they’ve been providing and improving on their SaaS and cloud infrastructure for many years – it is simply the logical upgrade for us.” Baker Donelson is an OpenText swapout.
# Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, with nine offices and approximately 500 attorneys, will implement NetDocuments’ DMS platform for improved usability, security, and productivity across its firm and client base. DWT is an iManage swapout. Rob O’Rielly, CIO at DWT, commented. “Document management is a critical piece of our information governance strategy, and we just didn’t feel like our incumbent vendor was keeping up.”
# Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA and with 15 offices and over 500 attorneys, has selected NetDocuments as a document and email management platform. As a result of a recent law firm acquisition at Buchanan, this is an OpenText and iManage swapout. “The need to consolidate the two existing DMS systems gave us an opportunity to step back and rethink our DMS initiatives around compliance, information governance, and accessibility. We saw NetDocuments as an opportunity for new innovation in the legal document and email management space,” said Phil Casale, CIO at Buchanan.
