asb law announces strategic alliance with LPO and technology provider NewGalexy

andrew clintonSussex and Kent law firm asb law and legal process outsourcing (LPO) and technology provider NewGalexy have announced a strategic alliance aimed at offering general counsel a compelling new value proposition.
NewGalexy, headed by heavyweight former McGrigors senior partner and KLegal chief executive Robert Glennie, started life as a LPO but in September 2014 launched a cloud-based document assembly system for corporate legal departments (ContractPod) and a practice management system for small-to-medium sized law firms (NewGalexy Practice League).
In a statement yesterday (13 October), NewGalexy and asb, which will be rolling out ContractPod within its commercial team, said: “The collaboration provides an innovative solution for triaging and delivering legal services by harnessing technology, process and people to deliver the most effective and efficient legal services, mainly to general counsel (GCs).”
Commenting on the strategic alliance, Andrew Clinton (pictured), managing partner of asb law said: “Over the past few years we have invested significant time in understanding the evolving role of GCs.  We know from our conversations in the market that many GCs are reviewing their sourcing mix and there is a desire for innovative and collaborative solutions from external providers.  We believe that a proposition from a law firm and a legal services and technology provider will enable us to provide greater value to in-house legal teams.
“By triaging and managing their legal outsourcing requirements we will be able to ensure matters are executed at the right level of resource, at the right time, and at the right cost point, making it easier for the GC to extract more from their legal budgets.  We look forward to working with NewGalexy in developing a long-term partnership to service the changing needs of GCs.”
Sarvarth Misra, co-founder and director at NewGalexy Services commented: “GCs across the world are finding themselves under pressure to be creative and innovative and find the most efficient and cost-effective way of delivering legal services. We believe a seamless solution which combines high-value legal advice with a scalable and cost effective managed legal service and uses best in the market legal technology as an enabler in delivering the most efficient legal solution will appeal greatly to in-house counsel.
“We are excited to partner with a new age, forward-thinking law firm such as asb law. Recognising the need of using innovative technology in delivering legal services, asb law’s commercial team will be implementing NewGalexy’s state of the art contract automation and lifecycle management product ContractPod to assemble and automate routine and commoditisable contracts and documents for its own use and that of its clients.”
NewGalexy has worked closely with major corporates including BT and was seriously considered by as a replacement for the telecoms giant’s former LPO provider, UnitedLex. The contract was won at the start of 2014 by Axiom.
