WHAT: “Five Questions to Ask Your E-Discovery Vendor About Continuous Active Learning,” a webinar designed to help legal professionals learn how to evaluate competing claims about technology assisted review platforms and whether they use Continuous Active Learning (CAL), an advanced protocol for technology assisted review (TAR) that has been proven to be more effective than other TAR methods at finding relevant documents and at lower cost.
WHEN: December 10, 2015, 1 p.m. ET, 10 a.m. PT.
WHY: A landmark, peer-reviewed study last year demonstrated the superiority of an advanced TAR protocol called Continuous Active Learning. The research proved that CAL was far more effective at finding relevant documents, at a much lower cost, than the one-time training methods used by TAR 1.0 systems.
Since then, many vendors have tried to jump on the bandwagon—claiming they somehow incorporated CAL into their one-time training protocols. The fact, however, is that many of these claims are misleading and that many of their systems are not true CAL systems.
For professionals interested in using TAR, it is not always easy to sort through competing vendors’ claims and to be sure that a vendor that claims to use CAL actually does.
WHO: Panelists for the webinar will be Thomas C. Gricks III, Managing Director, Professional Services, Catalyst, and one of the nation’s leading authorities on the use of TAR in litigation; Mark Noel, Managing Director, Professional Services, Catalyst; and John Tredennick, CEO and Founder, Catalyst. The panel will be moderated by Robert Ambrogi, a lawyer and journalist who is director of communications for Catalyst.
