Janders Dean boosts US capability with second SeyfarthLean hire

Having made its first U.S. hire in August 2015, when Andrew Baker joined from SeyfarthLean, legal industry management consultancy Janders Dean has brought on board its second permanent U.S. member of staff, also formerly at SeyfarthLean.

Karl Haraldsson was until March 2016 an associate data solutions architect specialising in legal analytics. He joined Janders Dean this month as a Chicago-based senior consultant, bringing a wealth of experience in legal process improvement, project management, knowledge solutions, and client-facing technology.

Haraldsson’s projects have included litigation risk forecasting with a Fortune 100 insurance company and employment claims analysis and visualisation with a leading facilities services company. The latter involved designing a custom online dashboard that visualised employment litigation trends across the 100,000 employee company, allowing corporate executives, HR managers, and attorneys to better pinpoint and respond to areas of risk.

Haraldsson’s hire follows the arrival in August last year of Baker, Janders Dean’s first US director and legal transformation practice group head, who launched the Chicago base.

Baker was instrumental in the creation of the SeyfarthLean client solutions group, comprised of client-facing business and technology professionals aimed at improving the delivery of Seyfarth’s legal services. He also led on the creation of the 800-lawyer US firm’s legal technology innovations office, which focussed on product innovation and technology-focussed services.

A blog post on the Janders Dean site heralding Haraldsson’s arrival  – titled ‘Legal Data Superman Joins Janders Dean‘ – says: “As the legal industry continues to become more quantified, and both law firms and corporate legal departments begin to use data more creatively, we feel confident that Janders Dean is now even better positioned to help our clients (and their clients) take material steps forward.”

Janders Dean’s largest client base is in London and Australia but it has clients across the Asia Pacific region and the U.S., including South America.
