Handshake Software clients will now be able to quickly migrate from on-premises SharePoint portals or extranets to cloud-based versions after the Atlanta-headquartered company announced support for Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint Online.
The new capabilities allow law firms to take advantage of SharePoint Online as part of Office 365 to deliver pages for matters, clients, and departments through integration with firms’ on premise and cloud-based systems including Aderant, Elite, iManage, NetDocuments, InterAction and other mission critical applications.
“These new capabilities will meet an increased demand from law firms moving to the Office 365 platform,” said Douglas Horton, CEO and president of Handshake Software. “We have protected our clients’ investment in our software by providing an easy path to migrate their existing on-premise SharePoint to SharePoint Online in the future, without having to re-write their portals.”
The new integrations are available immediately and several clients are currently in the implementation process. This includes full service Panama law firm Galindo Arias & Lopez, which has already rolled out the SharePoint Online portal.
Glenn LaForce, Handshake Software’s executive vice president & chief strategy officer said: “Our Office 365 and SharePoint Online strategy stays true to our mission to provide lawyers, CIOs and knowledge management professionals with one-stop KM information within one unified system.”
