Bird & Bird launches version 4.0 of Cloud Computing App

Bird & Bird has launched the fourth version of its Cloud Computing app today, guiding suppliers and users of cloud services through the legal framework across EMEA.
The app, first developed in 2013, provides answers to frequently-asked-questions across 19 jurisdictions. It reviews issues of consumer protection, data protection, data portability, intellectual property, liability, security and the use of the cloud by the public sector.
Cloud computing services are inherently non-geographical, but are subject to legal rules on a country-by-country basis, which leads to complexities in understanding the legal environment. The Bird & Bird app provides clarity by answering questions on the key legal issues associated with each region.
The latest version of the app features enhanced User Experience (UX) developments including improved navigation, better legibility and compatibility for mobile and tablet.
Graeme Maguire, Global Head of Bird & Bird’s Tech & Comms Group, commented: “Thanks to the many cloud computing experts from across our firm for their contributions in updating our Cloud App to version 4. The app is an invaluable tool in guiding users through the complex and rapidly-moving environment of cloud computing laws and regulations. Thanks to the app’s new design, it is faster and easier to navigate than ever before.”
Version 4.0 of the Bird & Bird Cloud Computing app covers 19 jurisdictions including: Australia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK and the UAE. It was completed with contributions from Nikolinakos – Lardas & Partnership, BCCC Attorneys-at-law and BTS & Partners for the Greek, Swiss and Turkish sections.
The app is available to both mobile phones and tablets, and requires iOS 7.1, Android 4.1, and Windows 10 or later.
It is available to download from the Apple App Store, on Google Play and the Microsoft Store.
