Coming in light of ongoing discussion about devolution of the legal and justice systems in Wales, which was included in the Welsh Government’s Government and Laws in Wales Draft Bill, and following the recent publication of the Wales Bill by the UK government, this seminar will focus on the future of legal services in Wales.
Sessions will focus on the impact of devolution on the future of Wales’ legal system, in addition to the potential for the future devolution of responsibility for legal and justice systems.
Delegates, will also discuss the state of the legal market in Wales – including the growth of alternative business structures, digital service delivery, encouraging inward investment and strategies for supporting small and medium sized practices; along with the legal education and training landscape, improve diversity within the profession and the growth of apprenticeships in the sector.
