Vantage: Mason Hayes signs up to 3E as 3E 2.8 unveiled

park plaza westminsterWith its Vantage London user conference well under way, Thomson Reuters Elite will announce later today (27 September) that leading Irish law firm Mason, Hayes & Curran will be making the transition from its existing Enterprise practice management system to 3E, after TRE yesterday unveiled 3E 2.8 in preparation for its move into the cloud.
Mason Hayes, a full-service business law firm with offices in Dublin, New York and London, selected 3E after a full market review. The 80 partner firm will be using Elite’s Express Service Package, which enables rapid deployment of a highly standardised 3E configuration in just nine to 12 months.
“Client service is at the heart of everything we do in Mason Hayes & Curran,” said Des Murray, director of finance at Mason Hayes. “Migrating to 3E will allow us to continue and enhance the high level of service we provide to clients. 3E is a natural choice for us given our reputation for cutting-edge legal advice and rapid response times.”
Meanwhile as Elite prepares in 2017 to move full speed ahead into the cloud, 3E 2.8 has been released, bringing with it standardised workflows that encourage configuration, not customisation. Launching in tandem with 3E 2.8, a new Monitoring & Diagnostics module will help firms track 3E usage and performance spikes, troubleshoot issues and proactively monitor their 3E system.
Rather than releasing 3E 2.8 and waiting for the first law firm to sign up, Elite conducted a pilot with Oklahoma-based law firm GableGotwals; Washington IP firm Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox; and litigation boutique Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan. Both GableGotwals and Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox are live on the new version of 3E now, while Quinn Emanuel is moving into production with 2.8 as a result of its experience in the pilot program.
Eric Ruud, managing director of Elite, told the Vantage conference: “While this version of 3E is as customizable as those previous, the strategy driving 2.8 development included the addition of standard workflows, which specifically target implementation time and lower the cost of ownership. Built upon best practices, the new standard workflows offer configuration options instead of requiring customisations.”
