Newly-formed law firm Ember Contract Solutions, which provides legal and commercial support for outsourcing and technology contracting, has hired ITV’s head of legal for technology and broadcast operations, Christopher Perrin.
At ECS, which was formed in 2015, Perrin joins the board of directors alongside managing director David Williams, formerly a solicitor at Carphone Warehouse; director Siu Ha Tang, formerly a lawyer at HP Enterprise Services; and management consultants David Leedham and Mike Havard.
Since its inception late last year, ECS has acted for household names such as BMW, Birmingham City Council, British Airways, Home Retail Group, Teleperformance and RSA.
Perrin, formerly an associate at Fieldfisher, said: “I wasn’t looking to leave ITV as I was very happy there, but couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be a key player in the expansion of this new kind of law firm. Our offering of fully integrated legal, technical, commercial and financial advice is an important development in providing a full service offering to clients and where I see the market heading. Until recently, this would not have been possible as the solicitors’ regulatory rules did not allow non-lawyers to play key roles in law firms. However, this is now a reality and, from my experience, exactly the type of service most clients want but until now have not been able to get.”
