Aderant has released a new integrated case management system that brings billing and case information within one database.
Aderant Expert Case centralises all case and financial information in one system, including documents, contacts, appointments, tasks, court filings, discovery, parties and issues.
Speaking to Legal IT Insider, Aderant director of EMEA sales, Karen Bailey said: “Because all of the information is in one database, collaboration internally is much easier across teams.”
Expert Case’s automated taskflows have been designed to allow users to build out repeatable processes themselves. Bailey said: “The taskflows enable a secretary to make amendments without involving technical support; it’s been written to be easy to use.”
The new CMS will be available on a tablet, accessible via the firm’s web browser. Bailey added: “Clients are asking for so much information these days and they want you to use technology and use it well. If a fee-earner needs information to hand, it’s all available on their tablet on the go, which means they become more efficient.”
Expert Case has been looked at by a few early law firm adopters as part of Aderant’s product innovation committee, which gives developmental feedback prior to release.
The new CMS incorporates much of the knowledge and research within Total Office (formerly Client Profiles) – a case management system acquired by Aderant in 2011, which is only available in North America.
Aderant has been playing catch up in terms of an integrated CMS since Thomson Reuters Elite in 2011 acquired FWBS – developer of MatterSphere – which until TRE’s acquisition was an integrated part of Aderant’s practice management solution.
