Anexsys acquires K2 Legal Support after appointment of new group CEO

james-duckenfield-hobs-group-ceoLegal technology and consultancy firm Anexsys, which is part of the Hobs Group and until 2015 was called Hobs Legal Docs, has acquired K2 Legal Support, creating the largest dedicated legal print and scanning business in the UK. The acquisition follows the appointment of new Hobs Group CEO James Duckenfield (pictured), who has signalled his intention to expand the group’s geographical coverage.
Anexsys provides e-Discovery, digital forensic services, managed hosted legal systems as well as printing and scanning for a range of legal, corporate and government clients. It has offices in London and Manchester, while K2 operates out of Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds and Manchester. The acquisition of K2 will allow Anexsys to continue to support law firms locally, and offer extended coverage for national law firms.
Rob Crowley, managing director of Anexsys said: “K2 have built a fantastic reputation in the legal print industry over the last ten years. I’m delighted that K2’s experienced team will be joining us and that we will be able to provide national coverage of new and existing services.”
Duckenfield, meanwhile, was in December formally announced as successor to former CEO Kieran O’Brien, who will continue his involvement with the company as a non-executive director.
Duckenfield, who joined from Xerox in September 2016, has signalled plans to increase both the geographical coverage and capability of the Hobs Group.  He said: “We’ve ambitious plans for both organic and inorganic growth and I want to see the Hobs business almost double by 2020.”
The plan for Anexsys is to increase its geographical coverage especially in e-Discovery and digital forensics, with a strong focus on managed services.
