HotDocs appoints Steve Spratt to newly-created COO role

Document automation software provider HotDocs has today (9 January) announced the appointment of Steve Spratt as chief operating officer, in a newly-appointed role designed to help boost HotDocs presence in North America after a year of significant international growth.
Spratt moves to the new, global position from the role of SVP & general manager of HotDocs International, where has been in post since 2015 in charge of all regions bar North America.  The COO role will see Spratt take worldwide responsibility for all commercial areas of the HotDocs Group, including central HR and operations.
While the COO is an extension of Spratt’s existing role, further promotions can be expected as he assembles a supporting team.
HotDocs experienced a revenue increase of over 20% in its international division in 2016 and Spratt said: “With 2016 results for the international division showing a revenue increase of over 20%, I feel confident and energised about helping to lead the company on to its next stage of growth, including launching exciting new innovations to our technology stack.”
Russell Shepherd, founder and CEO of HotDocs Group, commented: “The past few years have seen a period of significant growth for HotDocs and it is critical that the correct leadership is in place to manage our increasing pace of growth as we continue to scale the business both at home and internationally.  I feel that Steve has the experience and drive to push HotDocs onto an even higher level of performance and a faster growth curve in the coming years.”
In a career spanning over twenty-five years, Spratt has worked across a range of sectors including government, banking, media and software.  He has worked in enterprise software for seventeen years, rated as a high performer in senior roles for companies such as Axios Systems, Borland, Netcall and Noble Systems with responsibility for professional services, sales, channel and business development.
Last year HotDocs appointed former Axios Systems chief technology officer and vice president of support services Scott Leckie as its first-ever CTO.
