In-house legal tech: LawGeex launches buyers’ guide for business

In a guide that will be welcomed by the in-house community both as a useful tech resource and as a further sign of their rapidly growing autonomy, LawGeex has today (16 May) launched The In-House Counsel’s LegalTech Buyers Guide – a free, downloadable guide that showcases more than 100 “must-know technology solutions” which solve the daily challenges faced by in-house lawyers.
The guide, which includes practical advice based on dozens of interviews from corporates including Pearson, AIG, TabTale, Travelocity, Vodafone, NetApp, Del Monte, Axalta Coating Systems, Tongal and Novartis – all who have used technology to cut costs and reduce legal inefficiency – comes at a time when in-house legal teams are under increasing pressure to show ROI and reduce costs.
Reacting to the guide John Jeffcock, chief executive of Winmark Chief Legal Officer network told Legal IT Insider: “This has great timing. It is a well presented and easy to use guide on in-house legal tech that will be useful for all in-house functions.  The majority of our Chief Legal Officer network are in some form of digital transformation and it is great to see so many of them included in the research.”
The guide provides jargon-free explanations of an in-house legal tech buying journey, from barriers to adoption, savings and efficiencies law departments can expect, to establishing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators.
The analysis argues that legal is lagging as one of the last business areas to adopt technology, but lawyers are now embracing change, spurred by the dramatic increase in legal tech products available.
Andrew Haslam, author of the definitive Buyer’s Guide to eDiscovery, published exclusively by Legal IT Insider said of LawGeex’ guide, which references eDiscovery: “An excellent primer on the changing focus of in-house legal departments and their need to embrace technology, that follows onto a listing of the key tools at their disposal. Well worth a read.”
