Peggy Wechsler to become the first LTC4 ‘Lion’

If she wasn’t one of the biggest names in legal tech before we revealed she had been exited from ILTA she is now, so it’s no wonder LTC4 says it is “pleased to announce” that Peggy Wechsler has become the first LTC4 ‘Lion’.
LTC4 says that its Lions are legal technology professionals who have been invited to form an Advisory Council to assist the board with the strategic direction of LTC4. (There’s no obvious acronym there but we can’t help think LTC4 Lions sounds a bit like an American football team.)
A statement from LTC4 received late yesterday (9 October) said: “Peggy’s many years of experience working within the legal industry and her passion for encouraging technology education will be invaluable as the organization continues to grow apace. She will be working with the Board to develop strategies for working with corporate legal departments as well as law firms and law schools, and she will be helping LTC4 to grow and continue in its mission to become firmly accepted as the industry standard for technology skills.”
This is the first news of Peggy since we revealed that she had been exited from ILTA a matter of weeks before its flagship annual conference, leaving many vendors and ILTA aficionados seething (and resulting in lengthy discussions over the direction of ILTA – both for and against – in our comments section.)
Much like ILTA, LTC4 is a not-for-profit organization, that has established legal technology core competencies and certification that all law firms can use to measure ongoing efficiency improvements. Counting as members many of the Am Law 200 from BakerHostetler to Winston & Strawn and global firms including Allen & Overy, DLA Piper and Linklaters, LTC4 is working towards creating the global standard for legal technology proficiency – which we champion – and is a strategic partner of the hugely influential Corporate Legal Operations Consortium (CLOC).
