Legal IT wins: Aderant Handshake signs up three US firms

Following Aderant’s move into knowledge managment with its acquisition of Handshake Software in August 2017, the Atlanta-headquartered vendor will today (13 March) announce the win of three US firms, which have signed up to Aderant Handshake for their KM and intranet solutions.
The firms are New Jersey-headquartered legal practice Porzio, Bromberg & Newman; Sullivan & Worcester, which is headquartered in Boston and has offices in London, New York and Washington; and full service Boston practice Burns & Levinson, which has around 125 attorneys in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
“Burns & Levinson is creating an intranet focused on the needs of the attorneys to enable them to provide better service and value to clients,” said Angela Dowd (pictured), director of practice innovation and current president of ILTA’s board of directors. “By partnering with Handshake, we will be able to wrap multiple systems and feeds into one customizable location and allow the attorneys to manage their practice from a central location.”
With the proliferation of data and information managed in law firms, good knowledge management processes and technology will increasingly give firms a competitive edge.
“Firms continue to invest in knowledge management to create better lawyer efficiency and drive additional revenue,” said Glenn LaForce, vice president of knowledge management of Aderant. “The beauty of Handshake is its ability to present information to lawyers in the way they think and work, allowing them to be more efficient and bill more. We are excited to welcome these three new firms to the Handshake family.”
