UK top 60 full-service commercial law firm Freeths has selected Hubshare from Nikec Solutions as its collaborative project management portal.
Hubshare will initially be used to manage Freeths current Aderant implementation project and was selected after Freeths extensively evaluated the collaboration portal market.
Hubshare sits between HighQ Collaborate and iManage Share and is seen by its clients – which are typically mid-tier law firms – as striking a balance between functionality and cost. In April it signed leading London-based law firm Collyer Bristow, where Glenn Hagon, operations director said the portal provides the firm with “a robust, value for money solution.”
Damian Jeal, managing director at Nikec told Legal IT Insider: “Some systems are more expensive and that does seem a big driver from the market, which says ‘we might use this feature a lot, but we don’t see all the functionality.’”
Having started out as an equivalent to Dropbox – essentially an alternative to email – Hubshare, which integrates with the leading practice and document management systems and can be set up in the cloud or on premises, has now grown in functionality to incorporate project management capability.
Peter Smith, chief executive at Freeths, said: “Nikec’s Hubshare was the stand-out choice in the market, and their team really took the time to understand us, our business, and our current project portfolio.”
