Launched less than five years ago, the knowledge management platform has secured a who’s who of heavyweight clients
Foundation Software Group, a developer of next-generation software for large law firms, is now working with 21 of the top 100 US law firms.
Launched in 2014 by Nate Fineberg – ex-CEO and founder of Interface Software – and Brett Balmer, Foundation clients now include Akin Gump, Baker Botts, Blank Rome, Duane Morris, Hunton Andrews Kurth, McGuire Woods, Orrick, Pillsbury, Seyfarth, Sidley Austin, Skadden, and Troutman Sanders.
The landmark represents a real escalation in client acquisition. In November 2017 the firm was working with just 12 of the largest 100 US firms.
Foundation helps law firms leverage their collective work experience and the expertise of their lawyers. It provides a single comprehensive repository that is tightly integrated with existing business applications and, at the same time, supports the collection of additional information during the matter lifecycle.
“One of the keys to providing excellent service to our clients is our ability to optimally leverage the vast pool of experience within our global firm,” explained Aaron Ruleman, CIO at Akin Gump.
“We chose Foundation’s configurable platform architecture because it enables us to continuously adapt to meet the evolving needs of our clients and lawyers over time. This solution will put all our collective work experience and talent – drawn from both internal and external data sources – more rapidly at our fingertips, ensuring that we continue to provide the best outcomes for our clients.”
Integration to Foundation is accomplished with time & billing, human resources, matter intake, CRM, content management and various other business applications. Many firms choose to integrate directly with their data warehouses.
