HAUPPAUGE, NY – Ivionics, a leading technology and consulting company serving businesses has hired Christopher Zegers as Director of Consulting-Legal to further strengthen its legal technology team within Ivionics Legal Intelligence, the company’s burgeoning legal consulting practice. At Ivionics, he will work closely with customers to educate, advise and implement best practices for managing their information and technology operations.
Christopher (“Chris”) has held leadership positions at many prestigious law firms. He is a notable industry speaker and has written extensively on issues germane to law firms, focusing extensively on issues that are now disrupting the legal profession including technology, innovation and competitive intelligence.
Before joining Ivionics, Chris most recently was CIO at Lowenstein Sandler, a national law firm of 300 attorneys. Chris was responsible for Lowenstein’s technology, data security, knowledge management, and legal research strategy and execution. Under his leadership, the firm achieved many breakthroughs in innovation. At Lowenstein, Chris managed a full staff of technology, innovation, legal research and competitive intelligence professionals which supported Lowenstein’s 600 users across six offices nationwide.
Prior to Lowenstein, Chris was Director of Information Technology at Herrick Feinstein LLP, managing and improving the technology for a Manhattan law firm of 180 attorneys. He oversaw tech support for 375 users across the firm’s New York, Newark, and Princeton offices.
Chris has also held various management and operational positions at law firms O’Melveny & Myers LLP and Gordon, Altman, Weitzen, Shalov and Wein LLP, as well as K2 Design and the School of Information at University of Michigan.
Chris has presented at events such as: Legalweek, LegalCIO, Thomson Reuters Law Firm COO & CFO Forums, ALM Legaltech, ILTA, ALM Chief Information & Technology Officers Forum and the ALM CIO Dialogue Forum, among others. He has also authored several articles and white papers in publications such as CIO Review, ILTA’s Peer to Peer Magazine and E-Legal Technology.
At the University of Michigan, Chris earned a graduate degree: Master of Information, Human-Computer Interaction, Business Analysis. Before that, he received his B.A. from the University of Maryland.
