Countdown to ELTA!

This week I’m one of many speaking at the European Legal Tech Association in Madrid, which will bring together almost 300 delegates and sponsors from across the Continent and beyond to discuss innovation and transformation in the sector. Attending organisations include Eversheds Sutherland and CMS and KPMG and among the vendors are Thomson Reuters/HighQ, Wolters Kluwer and LoopOp. It’s great to see that ELTA and the International Legal Technology Association (which we know better as ILTA) are collaborating, and ILTA CEO Joy Heath Rush will be attending the conference.
ELTA was launched in 2016 in order to help the European legal technology market ‘play catch up’ and bring together law firms, companies, legal tech providers, start-ups, and individuals with an interest in legal business and legal technology from all over Europe.
The Berlin-based organisation is the brainchild of chairman Dr. Hariolf Wenzler, chief strategy officer for Germany and Austria at Baker & McKenzie, and Tobias Heining, director of business development and communication at CMS. Heining is now president of the ELTA board.
My round table at the conference will focus on how to “convert lawyers to the legal tech religion”, which should be a fun conversation. I’ll also be looking for interesting updates and comments during the event so be sure to come and say hi – this is a great networking opportunity and I’m hoping that we can boost our coverage of legal teams on the Continent, where coverage has traditionally been quite limited.
