ILTA has told its members that planning for its annual conference in August “continues in full force” and is adamant that “ILTACON will happen.”
The statement from ILTA’s CEO Joy Heath Rush follows the wholesale cancellation of legal tech events post-COVID-19, leading to a great deal of speculation as to whether ILTACON, the highlight of the annual legal tech calendar that is this year taking place in Nashville, will also be cancelled.;new advadsCfpAd( 155474 );;new advadsCfpAd( 163652 );;new advadsCfpAd( 155475 );;new advadsCfpAd( 155474 );;new advadsCfpAd( 163652 );( window.advanced_ads_ready || jQuery( document ).ready ).call( null, function() {var $legalslider1321355446 = jQuery( “.legal-slider-1321355446” );$legalslider1321355446.on( “unslider.ready”, function() { jQuery( “div.custom-slider ul li” ).css( “display”, “block” ); });$legalslider1321355446.unslider({ delay:10000, autoplay:true, nav:false, arrows:false, infinite:true });$legalslider1321355446.on(“mouseover”, function(){$legalslider1321355446.unslider(“stop”);}).on(“mouseout”, function() {$legalslider1321355446.unslider(“start”);});});
The announcement comes as experts give mixed messages as to how long it will be before life returns to normal, with some leading experts saying that will not be for many months. One big question given the international nature of ILTA is whether travel bans will have been lifted. We’ve not yet been able to get hold of Heath Rush to discuss what that means in practice for vendors in terms of planning but here is what she had to say in an announcement this week (14 April):
Dear ILTAns,During the past few weeks, we have seen unprecedented change in our world. Our legal community has not been unscathed.Many of you have asked about ILTACON. ILTACON planning continues in full force, and we are looking forward to the great education, networking, and time with our sponsors.ILTACON will happen. We humbly believe that it is the world’s premier legal technology conference. And we promise not to let you down.However, we understand that ILTACON might look different based on the travel policies in place for our members. ;new advadsCfpAd( 156117 );;new advadsCfpAd( 163901 );;new advadsCfpAd( 163650 );;new advadsCfpAd( 156117 );;new advadsCfpAd( 163901 );( window.advanced_ads_ready || jQuery( document ).ready ).call( null, function() {var $legalslider695476667 = jQuery( “.legal-slider-695476667” );$legalslider695476667.on( “unslider.ready”, function() { jQuery( “div.custom-slider ul li” ).css( “display”, “block” ); });$legalslider695476667.unslider({ delay:10000, autoplay:true, nav:false, arrows:false, infinite:true });$legalslider695476667.on(“mouseover”, function(){$legalslider695476667.unslider(“stop”);}).on(“mouseout”, function() {$legalslider695476667.unslider(“start”);});});
We continue to work with our hotel partners at Marriott on right-sizing our in-person event while exploring options for our members who cannot join us in Nashville.We will provide more updates as we have them. Please stay tuned for a LegalSEC Summit update.
