DWF hires new global head of legal operations, tech & consulting

Listed UK top 30 law firm DWF has hired Rachita Maker as global head of legal operations, technology and consulting for its alternative legal services division Mindcrest.

Maker, who previously held senior roles at EY and Integreon, joins from Tata Communications in Mumbai, India, where she was head of legal operations and compliance.

In Maker’s new, global role she will oversee teams in the USA, UK and India. She brings with her over 20 years of legal operations and legal technology experience working in a variety of sectors including telecommunications, banking, finance and healthcare.

Maker said: “I’m pleased to join DWF and look forward to working with the Mindcrest team to expand our legal operations, technology and consulting expertise.

“The legal market is transforming and client needs are evolving at a rapid pace which is reflected in an increasing focus on technology and consulting. I’m looking forward to working with general counsel and their heads of legal operations to tackle everything from legal team vision and strategy through to spend management, legal tech implementation and knowledge management. We can collaborate to develop lean ways to process contracts but can also support litigation management and compliance.”

Maker’s appointment follows on from the internal appointment of Emma Roe as head of legal operations consultancy in May.

The pair round up a team of technical specialists, process experts, data and business analysts, project managers and legal technologists.
