Sam Sheldon has joined legal technology and consultancy business, Pinnacle, to establish its capabilities in financial planning and analytics, helping clients better align their reporting capabilities with their business strategy through the use of the Microsoft Power Platform. Sheldon previously ran IT services and consulting business BLOCLINK and before that worked at DW Reporting, which was acquired by BigHand in 2018. Before moving vendor side, he was a financial systems analyst at Olswang, which is now part of CMS.
Sheldon’s hire follows Pinnacle’s launch in April of a Microsoft Legal Applications team, uniting its BI and Microsoft practice groups, with the intention of helping clients a every stage of their Microsoft journey.
Sheldon said: “Data is now one of the most valuable assets a company has. Access to data is becoming ever easier through the use of business tools, but the key is understanding how best to leverage that data to make better data-informed decisions.
“The current economic climate and post-COVID working practices have put pressure on management teams to focus on efficiency and ROI across their firms, with the outcome feeding into the overall business strategy – whether that’s continued organic growth, M&A, operational change or all of the above. The acceleration of Microsoft Power Platform as an enterprise-grade solution, together with the continued rapid growth of its capabilities and connectivity, reinforces that it is the right technology to act as the engine to deliver reporting across your firm.”
Microsoft is increasingly at the centre of law firms’ strategy, with many now using the Microsoft Power Platform to analyse their data and automate processes.
Mike Bailey, CSO and head of finance practices at Pinnacle said: “The demand from our clients to embrace Microsoft solutions throughout their operations keeps growing stronger and so we continue to evolve how we can support them as a partner. The development of our Microsoft Legal Applications, the extension of our managed services to cover the Microsoft Power Platform and now Sam joining us are all a direct response to our clients’ needs.”
