Pinnacle expands into APAC with hire of Ashurst head of financial systems

International legal technology consultancy Pinnacle has announced its expansion into the APAC region with the hire of Scott Sonter, who was head of financial systems at Ashurst in Sydney, Australia.

Sonter joins Pinnacle as principal consultant for APAC. A former solutions consultant, he joined Ashurst as 3E technical lead before moving into the role of financial systems manager and then head of finance. Pinnacle has a longstanding relationship with Elite 3E.

Sonter said: “I spent a large part of my career in Australia and have first-hand experience of the limitations projects face because there aren’t highly skilled partners on the ground offering the range of solutions Pinnacle can provide. That is what makes me most excited about this expansion – it is an enabler for our existing clients and the region in general.”

Kevin Smith, Pinnacle’s CIO and head of managed services added: “Building on Pinnacle’s growth in the US, UK, and Europe, establishing our presence in APAC with a local team completes the picture for our global clients, who need a partner with global reach. In the APAC region specifically, it also allows us to be the partner of choice for regional firms that have historically had to rely on out of time zone support, making project delivery a more demanding issue than it needed to be.  Firms with APAC offices can now benefit from all of Pinnacle’s services and products being readily accessible. Scott’s experience and pragmatic approach make him the ideal person to lead our growth in the region.”

Pinnacle has been growing in the US with hires including COO Val Reece, formerly of Thomson Reuters and
