LegalRM and Aderant obtain ISO 27001 and SOC 2 security certifications

LegalRM, the UK-headquartered company behind the iCompli information governance platform, announces today (24 January) that it has achieved a global certification for ISO 27001.

ISO 27001 is the international standard for information security. Chris Giles, CEO and founder of LegalRM, said: “Attaining this ISO 27001 certification is a reflection of our unwavering dedication to robust security practices that protect our clients and partners. This accomplishment underscores our commitment to providing our clients with the utmost security and reliability in managing their critical information assets, giving them confidence that their data is being guarded in accordance with the most stringent international standards.”

Leading the charge during the certification process was Alex Plampin, LegalRM’s vice president of technology. Plampin said: “Securing ISO 27001 certification was a meticulous and collaborative effort, and this accomplishment demonstrates our team’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of information security and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our client’s data.”

The news shortly follows an announcement from Aderant on 19 January that it has received SOC 2 certification for vi by Aderant and Expert Sierra SaaS platforms.

“This certification is a testament to the robust measures we have in place to protect client data and build reliable infrastructures that advance our security measures,” said Jessica Mifflin, Aderant’s senior director of cybersecurity, governance & privacy. “The latest examination evaluating our vi By Aderant and Expert Sierra platforms underscores our commitment to ensuring security, availability, and confidentiality for our clients around the world, and we look forward to more examinations in the future.”

Both ISO 27001 and SOC 2 are designed to instil confidence in customers that an organisation is protecting their data. SOC 2 is the de facto compliance standard in North America, where ISO 27001 is more popular globally.
