BigHand partners with Infodash as part of wider strategic partnership push

BigHand has entered a strategic partnership with Infodash that will enable law firms to surface business intelligence data through their intranet. This is the beginning of BigHand formalising its partnerships with vendors in order to strengthen its legal ecosystem, in a move that we’re told is driven by its customer base.

Led out of Missouri by CEO and co-founder Ted Theodoropoulos, Infodash provides legal intranet and extranet solutions for Am Law 200 and Global 100 law firms. This partnership will enable firms to expand the ways that lawyers consume BI information and potentially increase the number who do so.

Speaking to Legal IT Insider, BigHand’s chief marketing officer Briana McCrory said: “Ted has been in legal for a long time and is well respected and liked, and like us, Infodash are looking to build strong partnerships with like-minded companies that put their customers at the centre of everything they do.

“Our partnership with them will mean you can surface all your BI in the intranet, based on what the firm wants to share, with who. It’s about meeting our customers where they want to access data and helping them to achieve greater buy in.”

BigHand already has an as yet unnamed AmLaw 200 law firm up and running on the new combined offering and McCrory added: “One of the big messages we’ve been getting is that the stronger the legal ecosystem, the better for the customer. When we work in isolation it can become a problem for the client.

“We have always worked with others whenever we need to, but partnerships haven’t been a big focus for us. That’s changing because from speaking to our customers, they want us to be a lot closer to our partners.”

BigHand and Aderant recently announced a technology partnership and BigHand’s global legal market president Eric Wangler said: “We choose to integrate with DMS providers and financial systems providers but these partnerships are very customer driven. Our clients are playing matchmaker, saying ‘Wouldn’t it be great if BigHand and Infodash could work together.’ It’s better for the client if we play nicely together but also better for us, because the relationship becomes more sticky.”

Theodoropoulos said in a statement: “BigHand are the market leaders for Business Intelligence and this partnership marks a major advancement in our strategy to create innovative and best-in-class solutions for the legal industry. Together, we will deliver personalized and actionable performance information to every law firm employee, enabling firms to focus operational efforts on improving productivity across the entire firm.”

The partnership was led by Rod Wittenberg, VP of sales for financial productivity at BigHand.
