Macfarlanes has launched a subscription-based generative AI solution called ‘Amplify’ for clients, which has been co-developed with Harvey and released following a testing period with some of the firms longstanding clients. Amplify allows clients to streamline the analysis and interrogation of their documents and contractual data by adding a custom-built AI layer.
The tool is spearheaded by Macfarlanes’ Lawtech practice, with head of lawtech and chief knowledge & innovation officer Chris Tart-Roberts commenting: “Amplify will augment in-house teams, supporting them on the specific tasks they regularly undertake and creating meaningful efficiencies in the everyday running of their operations.”
Macfarlanes announced its generative ai strategy in September 2023 and as part of this, subscribed to Harvey. In November 2024, the firm renewed its partnership and expanded its collaboration with Harvey.
Harvey, backed by investors that include Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, Google Ventures, and OpenAI, leverage large language models to help users review, analyse and draft documents as part of a legal workflow. Winston Weinberg, co-founder and CEO at Harvey said: “Harvey’s technology combined with Macfarlanes expertise in Amplify provides a powerful combination for client impact.”
