GenAI legal assistant Paxton raises $22m Series A

US GenAI legal assistant Paxton has closed a $22M Series A funding round led by Unusual Ventures, alongside Kyber Knight, 25Madison, and Wisconsin Valley Ventures. This brings Paxton’s total funding to $28M, following its $6M seed round in 2023.

P‍axton, which was founded in 2023, speeds up the process of legal research, document review and drafting. Its database now includes all Federal cases and State Appellate cases above district level, meaning it can search and answer questions based on US legal decisions.

Paxton says that it delivers a 94% non-hallucination rate on the Stanford Legal Hallucination Benchmark.

“Our mission is to make advanced legal tools accessible to firms of all sizes,” said Tanguy Chau, Ph.D., CEO and co-Founder of Paxton. “With this funding, we’re poised to drive innovation, enhance efficiency, and transform how legal teams operate.”‍
