Elite today (11 February) announces the launch of Elite Validate, a billing compliance solution powered by Microsoft Azure OpenAI GPT-4o, which will enable law firms to monitor compliance with outside counsel guidelines in real time.
Validate is available to customers of Elite’s electronic billing solution eBillingHub and then integrates with Elite’s other solutions including 3E Time, 3E Proforma and 3E Billing. It is also compatible with other third-party time-entry, billing and financial management applications, including, Elite says, many leading small and mid-market financial solutions.
Speaking to Legal IT Insider, chief product officer Elisabet Hardy said: “One of the benefits of this being an extension of eBilling Hub is that this solution can also work with other non-Elite practice management systems, which is quite unique.”
Validate enables firms to create rules to turn OCGs into billing rules and automate alerts if there are violations. Learning from historical rejections and reductions, it will also help to create and enforce new billing rules that were not in the original guidelines.
Hardy said: “When we looked through the process of how our customers are having to deal with an increasingly complex landscape of complying with outside counsel guidelines, this was a natural area for us to focus on today.”
Hardy said that Elite’s partnership with Microsoft allows Elite to keep customer’s data in a closed ecosystem and provide all the security benefits that come with Azure.
In the past two years Elite has leveraged Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service to enable 3E users to create draft timecard narratives and inverse generation of phase tasks and activity codes. eBillingHub users have also been able to automatically categorise rejected invoices, accelerating firms’ ability to address them.
There are a number of OCG compliance tools available in the market and we’re looking forward to seeing a demo of this new solution from Elite to share its new functionality with you in more detail.
