Movers and shakers: Jo Owen joins Lights-On Consulting

Former Cripps CIO Jo Owen has joined Lights-On Consulting as a consultant, working with law firm clients as a fractional IT director. Lights-On is a UK-based legal IT consultancy that is a trusted advisor to law firms and professional services firms across the UK.

Owen’s career in legal technology spans more than two decades. She was at Cripps until 2023, immediately before which she was head of IT service delivery at Clyde & Co. During the past two years she has been a freelance technology consultant, working on projects including the Legal IT Innovation Group’s (LITIG’s) GenAI benchmarking initiative.

Commenting on her appointment, Owen said: “I have known Pete, Stephen and the wider Lights-On team for some time and admire their work in the world of legal tech, so when the opportunity came up, I was absolutely thrilled to join the team. It was an easy and exciting decision.

“Culturally, law firms can be quite different, but their goals and challenges can be very similar, particularly with regard to their use of technology. I am relishing sharing my expertise gained from more than 20 years of working at a broad spread of firms to help our clients harness the most effective technology to achieve their goals.”

Stephen Brown, MD at Lights-On, added: “We continue to see strong growth across all areas of work but particularly for talented fractional IT directors, and this is a perfect fit for Jo’s experience, knowledge and strategic skillset.”
