Webinar replay: From rollout to results – LexisNexis Everyfile in action at Clyde & Co

Just over one year from the announcement that Clyde & Co has adopted Lexis Everyfile, the global law firm has 2,000 users on the web-based matter management system, which is designed to provide a centralised platform for managing all legal matters.

In this webinar we spoke with Clyde & Co’s director of legal delivery and innovation, Stephen Allen, and general manager for LexisNexis Enterprise Solutions, Andrew Lindsay, about the warts and all journey so far, which has included migrating 13 legacy systems and moving 400 million data points. Allen talked about the work that has been done behind the scenes to facilitate this.

Noone is pretending that this is easy, but Allen used the analogy of eating an elephant in chunks rather than trying to swallow it whole.

Clyde & Co practices everything from complex litigation work to slip and trip cases, and we discussed how Everyfile is helping to provide standardisation and better client management information to improve the service that the firm is able to provide. Lindsay points out that clients need the same standard experience across a law firm, but this has historically been difficult for law firms that have grown through acquisition, with all of the different systems that entails.

One of the most interesting elements of this journey is the cultural one. Historically, fee-earners have been resistant to anything resembling case management. However, there are two factors in Everyfile’s favour. One is that fee-earners who wouldn’t normally use CMS are able to adopt it incrementally, at the speed they are comfortable with. Two is that there is a growing awareness of the need for structured data and standardisation, which will become a strength in leveraging AI going forward.

This was a lively conversation and really worth a listen, watch the recording below:
