Law firms face increasing pressure from clients, regulators, and threat actors alike—but forward-thinking firms are flipping the script on cybersecurity. In this fireside chat we explored the challenges and opportunities with Graham Holt, RVP of sales acquisition at Arctic Wolf, our webinar partner, and Christian Toon, founder & chief security strategist, Alvearium Associates, who has held senior roles at the likes of Pinsent Masons, where he was CISO and head of Cyber Professional Services, International.
Holt shared an overview of Arctic Wolf’s latest Threat Report survey and Trends Report, highlighting the prevalence of ransomware, business email compromise and intrusions as major cybersecurity incidents and concerns.
We discussed the importance of leadership and continuous bite-sized training and education in shifting to a proactive security culture. Toon explained his ‘People, Power and Politics’ approach to a cybersecurity-first culture and we addressed some of the high impact changes that organisations can make to reduce cyber risk, including identity management, vulnerability management, and detailed incident response plans.
The panel provided tips for making cybersecurity a boardroom conversation, and how it can be a business enabler if you improve your security posture and increase client trust.
